T3 Internet

A T3 is a high-speed connection that transmits data at a speed of 43.232 Mbps, faster than any other Internet connection. Its bandwidth is equal to about 28 T1 lines or 672 typical copper voice grade lines. This allows the ease of streaming video and transmitting large text files and graphics. A T3 is also often used as a network backbone for large businesses, universities, and apartments.

A T3 carries digital signals over fiber optic lines. The lines are terminated on smart jacks that can then be extended into your network. The T3 provides a large data backbone using channels as needed. Therefore, it is large enough to provide redundancy in case problems occur. You will know if a group of lines encounters a problem because the connections are made using the working circuits.

T3 circuits are installed in your premises using fiber or copper and extended to your telephone room on two-pair fiber cables. These cables are terminated unto jacks that are in the data room. From there, they are directly extended into the data equipment. T3 circuits take up less space compared with a similar amount of standard lines. A T3 is corresponding to 28 T1s. While a T1 can easily accommodate as much as 24 simultaneous users, a T3 can be able to provide up to 672 simultaneous connections.
